Elizabeth’s banquet by Ellie and Eva

When Elizebeth was having food on the table it  was  surrounded with large peacocks feathers and green branches with violets and other sweet-smiling flowers on the table. It was very flamboyant. They had stuffed chicken and also the birds weren’t allowed to sing or they were going to  be stuffed. They also ate stuffed pig with salad underneath on a massive plate.

Elizabeth enjoyed new food and spices from other countries. Especially unusual recipes. Sometimes she went over the top too much because she was in compassion with a french king and  tried to make her party the best and also her food.

What did Elizabeth I look like? by George and Theo

Elizabeth the 1st had a very striking appearance!

Elizabeth 1 had redish gold hair and wore a red wig even though she had red hair, she had black teeth and picked them in public. She also wore thick makeup to cover scars that she got from smallpox.

Elizabeth picked her black teeth in public and her makeup on her face was white she also hated what she looked like. Elizabeth didn’t like posing for pictures so she asked artists to copy previous paintings of her. Her nose was ridged and hooked in the middle, her eyes were dark brown and she even had very long fingers.

She had rather thin lips and her cheek bones were pronounced, she was 5ft 4in tall, her hair was naturally curly. Elizabeth had very pale skin and had freckles all over her face.

In the early hours queen Elizabeth the1st died and she got put in a lead coffin to go to her funeral. Elizabeth wanted to die because she did not want to get old. And as she was going she was pulled by black and white horses, and became history, the Queen became  famous because she was the longest living queen.  And lots of people, went to the funeral and as she was pulled by a beautiful horses 4 of them and all the amount of people that went was 200 people in the funeral thats a lot did you know that? well now you do.  In 1603 as Elizabeth died it morning early and died Elizabeth died and to me she it sounded like she was a good Queen. Elizabeths friends died a year before.

In May 1588 a massive invasion fleet of armada ships came to invade England and Phillip the 3rd was her enemy but England won because there was a storm that sunk half the armada ships.  Phillip the 3rd wanted to make England to be a catholic country once again. Elisabeth the first avoided  fighting wars!  Elisabeth  hated wars more, she just wanted to protect her kingdom.

The Spanish armada is one of the most famous events in English history. It was arguably queen elizabeths finest hour. Spain was one of the most powerful country in the world. In 1580, Philip conquered Portugal, which had a trading empire from Brazil to the East Indies.

Philip’s plan was to

  1. Gather a huge armada of 130 ships in Spain, under the Duke of Medina Sidonia.
  2. Sail to the Netherlands to pick up the Spanish army, led by the Duke of Parma.
  3. Invade England.                                                                                                              it hopes of invasion crushed, the remnants of the Spanish Armada began a long and difficult journey back to Spain.
